Organic content vs paid advertising: Which should you choose?

We choose the place, where people hangout to advertise our business. And where do people hangout more? Digital spaces like social media, search engines, streaming platforms etc.

We call this type of marketing as digital marketing. A digital marketing channel is where the marketing takes place. We can categorise all digital marketing channels as: organic and paid channels.

This is where you push your content to people by appearing on their feeds. You must pay the marketing channel (Like X, Instagram, email, Google) if and only if your audience has spent some time or have clicked on your ad.

Ever seen loads of business content creators on social media? They are doing something known as organic marketing. You tend to put out all your efforts and invest your time and a little money (sometimes zero) to create your own brand. Even if your audience click on your link or spent some time, you don’t need to pay for it.

If you have a big business which has earned lots of money or a highly funded startup, you can choose paid advertising. But, if you are a very small company or you have just started out, you must choose organic content because sometimes advertising doesn’t converts if it is not advertised at the correct way to the correct customers. This loss can be handled by big companies but is a risk for small companies.

No matter you are a small, medium or a multi billion dollar business, always choose organic content. Paid advertising is an option but organic content is a must.

Paid advertising gives a big ROI, but it must be done continuously to maintain its long term impact. But, organic content aims for long term impact. It helps you position yourself as a brand and expert and helps you reach more people without burning your money.

But whatever, the choice is up to you.
