Tibor Hollo, a visionary who played a pivotal role in reshaping downtown Miami and the Edgewater…
A titan in the real estate industry, Hollo’s legacy includes the transformation of Miami’s skyline with the construction of towering hotels, condominiums, and office buildings.
As the founder and leader of Florida East Coast Realty, established in 1972, Hollo’s influence was instrumental during a period when the future of Miami’s urban core was uncertain. His developments not only altered the city’s architectural landscape but also contributed to its revitalization.
Born in Budapest in 1927, Hollo’s journey took a harrowing turn at the age of 6 when his family relocated to Paris. The city’s occupation by Nazi Germany led to the family’s internment in a concentration camp in 1941. Although Hollo and his father survived, they were tragically separated from his mother, never to reunite. Following the war, Hollo embarked on a career in real estate development, initially setting his sights on New York City.
Eventually, Hollo’s path led him to South Florida, where he continued to build his legacy. Through his company, FECR, he amassed over 60 million square feet of development across the United States, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s real estate landscape.
