I made a whole new email address to start fresh. I transferred over those accounts I deemed important to the new email. The rest I deleted along with my email address. How Digital Minimalism Transformed The Way I Use Technology. Nitesh Mayani I hope you were very careful in that process. It’s been years since I’m using my primary email and deleting it seems a herculean task. …t they were real thoughts I had (I jotted them down!) and would have looked up if I was allowed to. This obsessive web searching is even worse when I’m in the middle of writing a novel, and I look up things about cities and parking garages and professions I don’t have. This is ONE strategy for sleeping time That Actually changed my life.

This is ONE strategy for sleeping time That Actually changed my life.

Productivity and self-improvement Everyone can control time and energy just by changing the way they sleep. Photo by Foto Sushi on Unsplash Your sleep can change you! That’s true and I use this strategy for my sleeping time to make me sleep better while can reduce the number of hours I need to stay on the bed. I sleep from 9 p.m to 4 a.m instead of 12 a.m to 8 a.m Before, I just think that if a person can have 8 hours of sleep a day, this person will have a better day and feel fresher the next day. But I was wrong, the number of hours someone sleep can impact the feeling of the person in the following day, but it is not the decisive factor, the thing that is more important is the quality of your sleep. And when I move from night owl to an early bird (go to sleep at 9 p.m and wake up at 4 a.m), I find out that this strategy helps to change myself in a better way that I never think before. This is the feeling I have when I decide to go to sleep early, around 9 p.m instead...

One Productivity Rule That Will Change Your Life

One Productivity Rule That Will Change Your Life

Productivity is something that we all strive to accomplish. Whether it’s spending more time writing that book you started years ago or trying to get off the couch after your fifth time through “The Office”, we all wish we were more productive (myself included.) Photo by Cathryn Lavery on Unsplash I was tired of not getting enough done throughout the day. I would beat myself up about it, which, in turn made me less productive. I searched all over the internet to find the secrets of the most successful people in the world, but I could never find anything concrete. I decided to take all of the research I found on productivity and design my own method that allowed me to get more done in a day than I ever thought possible. It boils down to two words, time management. If you have things to do you need to learn to manage your time, and if you don’t, you fall into the long rabbit hole of procrastination. This is why I implemented something so simple and effective in my daily life. A check list. You read that correctly, a simple checklist flipped my productivity world upside down. Here is what I...

How to find joy in your work.

How to find joy in your work.

Balancing a busy life with wellbeing and ease. I love to be busy. I love the drive to get things done. I thrive building amazing things from a sense of purpose. I deeply enjoy the satisfaction of feeling accomplished, and having done meaningful work. Often times, though, it’s hard to feel that my busy-ness is productive or meaningful. Sometimes I realize I’m pushing through to-do lists with a dull sense of duty, only to check off little boxes of accountability. The runaway minutiae of accomplishment can turn into a heavy stress that can make me wonder, “Why am I even doing this?” Life at this point, becomes much less fun and productive. Should I try to be less busy? Should I drop things off my schedule, and try to achieve less? Is my hunger for achievement wearing me out? I’ve come to the realization a busy life is indeed a sign of a full life for me. It means I am giving purpose to as many moments in the day as possible. I’m fully executing on the things I want in my life, and I’m leaving no opportunity unchecked. Being busy is good for me. The challenge is to be busy...

My Stoic Musings 003 — Ephemeral Time

My Stoic Musings 003 — Ephemeral Time

Photo by Meriç Dağlı on Unsplash “How many have laid waste to your life when you weren’t aware of what you were losing, how much was wasted in pointless grief, foolish joy, greedy desire, and social amusements — how little of your own was left to you. You will realize you are dying before your time!” — Seneca, On the brevity of life, 3.3b Time must be a stoic’s greatest enemy since it is the one thing that is truly out of his control. It is almost sad to think that the greatest conquerors that have lived throughout history were all beaten by time. Jeff Bezos, the richest man on the planet, must be aware as well that he can’t buy time with all his money and resources and power. Time, I feel, is like sand; the more tightly you try to hold it in your hand, the more of it you lose. And yet, we spend so much time on stupid things and act as if its supply is infinite. We spend hours every day watching random things on Youtube and Netflix that we don’t even enjoy much and instead feel guilty of watching. So much time is wasted wallowing...
