READING IS THERAPEUTIC

I am a lover of books, and going through memory lane, I have always been and will always be. I remember how I always read so hard in elementary school so that I could top the class and win a bunch of African children’s literature that could sustain me throughout the holiday. Reading for me is a therapy, skimming through pages, learning from the author’s perspective, building imaginary scenarios in your mind. Books are the most beautiful discovery of mankind, if I must say. They have a way of transporting us to different worlds, making us feel seen, heard, and understood.

Books are my escape route when things are not as they should be. When life gets overwhelming, and the world outside seems too much to bear, I find solace in the pages of a good book. I get lost in the stories, the characters, and the worlds created by the authors. Reading helps me process my emotions, gain new insights, and develop empathy for others. It’s a way for me to relax, unwind, and recharge.

As I grew older, my love for reading only deepened. I discovered new genres, authors, and topics that broadened my perspective and expanded my knowledge. I realized that reading is not just a hobby, but a tool for personal growth, self-improvement, and social change. Through reading, I’ve learned about different cultures, histories, and experiences that have shaped my worldview and informed my actions.

In a world that’s increasingly digital and fast-paced, reading remains a sacred act that allows us to slow down, reflect, and connect with ourselves and others on a deeper level. So, if you’re feeling lost, stressed, or uncertain, I encourage you to pick up a book and get lost in its pages. You never know what wonders, insights, and transformations await you.

Finally, I believe that reading is a gift that keeps on giving. It’s a journey that never ends, a treasure trove of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration that’s always within reach. So, let’s cherish this gift, nurture it, and share it with others. Let’s create a world where reading is celebrated, encouraged, and loved – a world where everyone can find solace, comfort, and joy in the pages of a good book.
