A brief history of Findborg
The history of Findborg is kind of twisted and goes pretty far back. Actually, a couple of decades ago I had a dream to start my very own search engine that would have some cool features. It was all about making the search process interesting and fun.
My first site was called “YODDLE” which stood for Your Open Data Driven Listing Engine. I think that if I ever get the money I will buy that .com just to have it for old time sake.
Here are some of the ideas I had for that project:
- Give detailed descriptions of sites
- Have an audio link for the description
- Have an video link for the description
- Results descriptions maintained by the site owner
- No force feeding of results
What happened to YODDLE
YODDLE was pretty widely used for a while. However, after failing at obtaining the .com for YODDLE. I realized that it would never grow as I would hope. I decided to stop YODDLE and come up with a new name that could be a .com site.
